Unique Couples Photoshoot Ideas

Couples

Right around this time last year my best friend reached out to me saying she thought it would be fun to do a pizza & beer shoot with her husband. They're both super laid back and love pizza and beer, so she thought it would be a fun way to capture one of the many aspects of their relationship that make them...them.

Being a lover of pizza & beer myself...as well as photoshoot opportunities, fun ideas, and Caitlin & Ryan - I immediately loved the idea.

We did the shoot in their kitchen. They got a pizza, cracked open a couple of beers, and pretty much hung out. I'd say it's pretty safe to say that it was more aesthetic and flirtatious than your average pizza & beer date in the kitchen with your spouse, and obviously I directed them a bit and gave them some prompts here and there, but all in all, it was relaxed, natural, and it was a blast.

To this day, this is still probably the most unique and fun photo session I've done. And now that busy season has come and gone and slow season/creative season/indoor photos season is upon us...I'd love to do more.

I usually photograph families, which I love. And by the way, you can totally do a photoshoot like this with your family - think family game night, ice cream outing, building a snowman, or even just snuggling up on your couch with hot cocoa. But I do think that a photoshoot like this would make for such a fun date idea!

Of course, it doesn't have to be pizza & beer. It could be anything that is unique to you and your significant other. And it doesn't have to be in your home if you don't want it to be either. In fact, I think a shoot like this would be super fun to do in a parking garage!

If you're thinking of doing a lifestyle photoshoot like this, here are a few fun inspiration ideas:

  • game night/playing cards
  • fancy clothes & wine & cheese
  • morning coffee in your pajamas
  • snuggling on the couch or by the fire
  • having a beer at a tap house
  • bowling
  • hot tubbing
  • grocery shopping
  • baking/cooking
  • dog park with your fur babes
  • snowball fight
  • doing household chores together
  • playing video games together
  • painting a room in your house (this would be SUCH a cute maternity/baby announcement/gender reveal session but doesn't have to be)
  • simply coexisting/day in the life/being at home together

There are, of course, countless things you could do. Even some of the most mundane things you do together could make for the cutest photoshoot. They say to romanticize your life - which I love the idea of - and this would be such a fun way to do just that. Plan a fun date, get your photos taken, and have a fun keepsake to look back on someday to remember what your love and connection was like now - in this chapter in life.

If this sounds like something you would like to do, please reach out! Send me all your ideas. If you want help coming up with an idea, I can help with that too! Just shoot me a message. :)
